When you think you’re having a bad day think about Francis Angier of Williston, Vermont. The pilot of a B-17 bomber during World War II, Angier was literally blown out of his airplane by enemy fire. He was severely injured when he hit the ground after opening his parachute at tree top heights. That was only the beginning of his plight. He was taken prisoner by the Germans and sent to a POW camp.

In 2003 Angier wrote a book about his life in the military, including his stint in the POW camp. The book is titled, “Ready or Not: Into the Wild Blue”. It is a great read. The book sells for $20 plus $3 for postage.

The Williston man is also the author of “Tales of Woe as Well as other Preposterous but Humorous Events”. The book sells for $15 plus $2.50 shipping.
